Special Cell arrests four criminals

New Delhi The Special Cell arrested four persons involved in several criminal cases in Delhi and the National Capital Region. The arrested persons, formerly belonging to the notorious Anil Bhagte gang, were identified as Pramod, Manjeet Singh, Ajay Kumar and Sant Kumar, police sources said.

A team of Special Cell officers laid a trap in Rohini based on information and arrested a couple of gang members. The Hyundai Verna car the accused were travelling on was found to be stolen from Transport Nagar in Jaipur. A 9-mm pistol and eight live cartidges were recovered from their possession. Upon interrogation they revealed the whereabouts of the other two gang members, Ajay and Sant Kumar, who were arrested later. Police said all four were allegedly involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery with renowned gangster Anil Bhagte. One of the accused was also involved in helping Bhagte escape from police custody. The police are investigating the case.
