PRAVEEN SIROHI
Although Praveen Sirohi played the small role of a college friend in Main Hoon Na, he is waiting to start his next two untitled films. Sirohi confesses it was Shah Rukh Khan’s tips that motivated him to take up acting; he has trained with theatre personality Raj Jagdishan. “My first film is a joint project with the Norway Film commission and an Indian producer, it’s an emotional story about a man and his wife. The other film is a thriller produced by Tidal Wave Production.”
YUVIKA CHAUDHARY
THIS hottie featured in a cameo in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. But little did she know that a larger cake-a lead role in director Suhail Tartari’s Summer 2007 was awaiting her. “When I was shooting for OSO, I was told that Kiron Kher had asked for me. I was skeptical of taking on films seriously as I was well set in the modeling industry, but both Farah Khan and Shah Rukh encouraged me.” Excited to have worked with Sikandar Kher (Anupam Kher’s son) she says, “The story revolves around the life and romance of a medical college student.” When asked about junior Kher, she gushes, “Apart from being a good actor, he is very approachable. His mom was also very warm; I’ve been a fan since childhood.”
SHEETAL MENON
SHE has appeared in the Kingfisher calendar, acted in a Malayalam movie, Rahu, and now Sheetal Menon is all set to sizzle in Pavan Kaul’s Brahm starring Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chetan Hansraj and Simone Singh. She is currently busy promoting the film which releases in the next few weeks. “I play a model and the story revolves about her past and how she loses faith in men,” says the alumna of An Actor Prepares, Anupam Kher’s training school. In spite of this, she confesses, “I did feel slightly nervous in the beginning but after a while, I did enjoy every bit and learnt a lot.”
FERENA WAZEIR
HER enchanting Persian looks and her experience in theatre has taken her places. Ferena Wazeir got a call from directors Rajeev Kanwar and Ketan Mehta for their movies—Sadiyan and Rang Rasiya respectively. While in Sadiyan she plays the role of a Parsi journalist, in the Kanwar’s movie, she is the typical emotional traditional Indian girl and stars opposite Luv Sinha (Shatrughan Sinha). Luck’s being a lady for her, she will also be seen in Oscar winning Hollywood director Danis Tanovic’s project and Soni Razdan’s movie revolving on Manju Kapoor’s book, Difficult Daughters. Wazeir with her hands full for the next two years, she says, “I am waiting for my first two projects to release soon this year.”
