St Joseph tops the group

Mumbai, February 7 Holders St.Joseph’s (Wadala) topped their group A and qualify for the knock-out stage in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school boys under-12 handball tournament, played at Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan on Thursday.

St. Joseph thrashed Children’s Academy 19-1, beat Yashodham 19-9 and defeated Bombay Cambridge B 14-8. Whereas in the group C was dominated by Jamnabai Narsee (Juhu) as their A team over powered Manik Vidyamandir 15-3 and their B team edged out arch rivals PG Garodia 12-9.

Results: Group A: St. Joseph bt Children’s Academy 19-1; St. Joseph bt Yashodham 19-9, St. Joseph bt Bombay Cambridge B 14-8. Group B: Bombay Cambridge A bt Pawar Public 17-8; Bombay Cambridge A bt Campion 18-14. Group C: Jamnabai Narsee A bt IES Manik Vidyamandir 15-3; Jamnabai Narsee B bt PG Garodia 12-9. Group D: IES Manik Vidyamandir bt Maneckji Cooper 9-2; IES Manik Vidyamandir A bt Jamnabai Narsee B 4-2.
