For those obscure hundreds who have forever dreamt being under the spotlight and hold hundreds spellbound from one corner of the stage, there’s more than just hope it seems. Theatrecian, a city-based theatre group, has come up with a workshop to encourage theatre enthusiasts who have never been involved with theatre.

Tathagata Chowdhury, from Theatrecian, says, “The workshop will culminate in a production where the participants will be contributing to the script, direction and design.”

Apart from that, the workshop will be witness to brainstorming session with theatre professionals like Dr Ananda Lal, Dhruv Mookerji and Himika Chowdhury.

While Dr. Lal will introduce the participants to the basics of theatre, Mookerji will be assisting them with speech and dialogue delivery. Chowdhury will throw light upon theatre reporting and will trace the differences between the same and investigative reporting. Filmmaker Tathagata Bhattacahrya will take the audience through a trip down the technical aspects of a stage production.

While the workshop has been designed keeping in mind potential stage talents, it will also emphasise the development of leadership skills, creative design in not just performing arts but also corporate structure and theatre marketing.

The production will be staged on March 15 and 16.
