Chandigarh Appeals to arrest anti-social elements

A delegation of Haryana BJP, led by national executive committee member Gyan Chand Gupta, today met Governor Dr A R Kidwai to hand over a memorandum, appealing to direct the Haryana government to arrest anti-social elements in the state.

The memorandum stated the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government has failed to protect the lives and properties of the people. There is no check on lootings, robberies, abduction and murders in the state.

“It seems either the criminals have the protection of the police or the police and the government have no control over them,’’ stated the memorandum.

Talking to Newsline, Gyan Chand Gupta said traders and businessmen have been suffering at the hands of anti-social elements. There have been a number of incidents in which traders have been attacked. In one such incident, Tejas Gauba, son of a businessman from Panipat, was abducted for ransom, but the police failed to trace him even 20 days after the incident.

Industrialists, including Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Randhir Golan, Amarnath Bhakt, Subhash Chahal, Subhash Ajwan, Satpal Chugh and Ajay Mittal were also present on the occasion.
