Chandigarh, September 19 The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has decided to set up air-conditioned agro malls for the sale of all kinds of agricultural based products, food products and other allied products at various places in the state. To be developed on the pattern of international supermarkets, two such malls have already been launched at Panchkula and Karnal.

Disclosing this here today, Haryana Agriculture Minister H S Chatha said the board had also approved an agro mall at Gurgaon to be set up over an area of approximately 4.7 acre, at an estimated cost of Rs 44.85 crore. The construction work of this proposed mall would be started shortly, he said.

The specialty of the agro mall would be to lay special emphasis on organic food and direct marketing of agriculture products from farmers by the sellers.

The mall would be fed regularly by a chain providing grading, sorting, packaging and ripening facilities, which would be located in the newly developed vegetable market in Gurgaon.
