New Delhi Less than a week after 40 car stereos were stolen in one night from Mayur Vihar, the gang struck again, this time in the upmarket Vasant Kunj colony in Southwest Delhi.

The gang broke windows of around 12 cars parked in a row in the locality and made away with the stereos on Thursday. The same modus operandi was used in Mayur Vihar on March 1. The police said the same gang could be behind both incidents.

Last night’s incident took place in the C-8 block of the colony. The residents came to know about it in the morning and informed the police. The police said that thieves used some heavy object to break the windows. The C-8 block has 15 gates manned by seven security guards, who were sleeping when the incident occurred.

The police said some local gang can also be involved. “We have formed teams and are checking the nearby areas. We hope to find the thieves soon,” a senior police officer said.
