Dyeing and printing factory owners have been the worst affected due to the shortage in the inflow of raw materials, as the strike entered the sixth day on Saturday.

Thousands of businessmen from other states visit Surat for business in finished textile goods, like dress materials and sarees. But in the wake of the stir, while some have delayed their visit, many have cancelled their demands.

The president of the Federation of Textile Traders Association, Mahendra Saluja, said: “The transporters have also denied to accept the parcels for delivery. Hundred percent dispatching has been stopped. The supply of chemicals and raw materials used in the weaving and processing units has been stopped from the companies outside Gujarat.” Saluja expressed the fear that many factories might shut down if the strike continued for some more days.
