New Delhi To tide over the fuel crisis, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Gurgaon, Deepti Umashankar had ordered strict rationing of petrol and diesel giving priority to ambulances and hospitals. The DC had fixed the limit for each fill for vehicles and directed petrol pump owners to obey orders.

As per the order, a bus or truck could take up to 50 litres, cars or jeeps up to 20 litres, three- wheelers up to 10 litres and two-wheelers five litres as one-time filling.

Petrol pump owners were asked to keep records of sales and the food and supply department officials were asked to check these records from time-to-time.

The Food and Supply Department officials were asked to keep tab on gas agencies to prevent black marketing.

Of a total of 74 petrol pumps in the district, 17 pumps of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) were functional. However, 35 pumps of Indian Oil Corporation in Gurgaon were closed during the strike.
