The student leaders Vikas Dubey and Surendra Pratap Singh will have to remain present at Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) M G Damor’s office on Tuesday.

The notice to the students was served by the officials of the Prevention of Crime Branch on Saturday.

According to sources, several offences have been registered against both the student leaders. Earlier, the MSU Syndicate member had issued an order to extern NSUI leader Jatin Patel.

“A notice has been issued to extern both the student leaders out of the city limits. The police will conduct further investigation in the issue, and has called both the student leaders on Tuesday for further enquiry,” said ACP Damor.

He said, “Police is following a specific procedure by which first a notice to extern is made. If the person is found to be guilty, he will have to follow court orders.”

Meanwhile, former ABVP general secretary Vikas Dubey confirmed that he and S P Singh were asked to meet ACB Damor on the issue on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North, Gagandeep Gambhir, said, "Police cannot divulge further details."

Sources said the notice to extern any person is served under the Bombay Police Act 56, 57. "Generally, it is done in case of bootleggers, and hardcore miscreants who are found to be involved in a rioting case using dangerous weapons and even in rioting cases which are serious in nature," said a senior police official requesting anonymity.

Dubey who was earlier with National Students' Union of India (NSUI), shifted his allegiance to ABVP because a fall-out between him and other NSUI members. A case of stealing a computer from a hostel has been registered against him. He also faces the cases of his involvement in bootlegging and threatening other students. Dubey, who pursues a Masters course from the Department of Sanskrit, MSU, is reportedly involved in 15 cases.
