Chandigarh, February 3 The students of Dr Khera’s Coaching Institute celebrated “Mat Pita Santan Diwas” at the Law Auditorium, Punjab University, on Sunday. The programme was aimed to acknowledge and thank parents for their love and affection.

The function started with a group song followed by students speaking about their bonding with their parents.

To mark the occasion, students staged a play called Maa, directed by Ashwini Ohri. The play provided an insight into the social problem where children consider their parents as burden. The play revolved around a widow called Savitri who single-handedly brings up her three sons, but they decide to abandon her. The play however ended on a positive note, where one of the three sons decides to rescue his mother and finally all the children realise their mistake.
