The students were released after the teachers accepted their apology and withdrew police complaint. Police said teacher of an international school had filed a complaint in February this year that some unidentified person has created a Facebook profile in his name with his photograph.
The complainant mentioned that obscene chat messages were sent from this Facebook account to a female teacher in the same school. Vulgar comments about the teacher’s wife were posted on the profile.
A police team led by inspector Balraj Lanjile and sub-inspector Vikas Kumbhar investigated the case. They found the profile was created by three former students of the school. Police traced their address and held them for questioning.
“All the three students hail from well educated families. One is in Class X and the other two in Class XII. The trio admitted that they did not have good relations with the teacher and hence to trouble him they created the profile and went ahead with the act,” said S-I Kumbhar.
“We found the students used Internet connections at their home and mobile phone. One of them also used Internet in the school for committing the act. Parents of the students were not familiar with Internet,” said Kumbhar.
“As per the instruction of district superintendent of police Sandeep Karnik, we had called the students with their parents and the complainant teacher on Friday. The students and their parents aplogised to the teacher. Considering the future of the students, the teacher withdrew his complaint,” Kumbhar added.
