The students were brought to Delhi by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) on February 27 and toured the Capital prior to the meeting with the CM.

Dikshit said, “I am sure these students will gain valuable experience by seeing the city’s historical monuments, discovering the values of unity in diversity and communal harmony.”

She appreciated the steps taken by the ITPBF and expressed hope that such tours will be conducted in the future. She further said to the students: “Delhi is yours. I will host you whenever you come.”

Apart from guarding borders, the ITBPF also works to connect the border states with the mainstream population through Civic Action Programmes.

Under its aegis, they have programmes like medical camps, IT centres for community awareness and special programmes for women.

“The Delhi CM gave us her blessings. If I get a chance to visit again I would definitely come,” said Pushkar, a student who was part of the programme.
