Meaningful gesture by students ! by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on 19 Feb 2010

Our students and their teachers have a vital role to play in spreading the Good News that leprosy is curable and leprosy is not contagious. College attending students of Warora's Anand Niketan Colleges of Arts, Science, Commerce and Agriculture along with their professors, readers and lecturers have shown tremendous courage and zeal in propagating the good tidings and thereby weakening the stigma that used to surround the word leprosy. School and college going youth have turned Anandwan into an attractive picnic spot. The Weekly Wednesday afternoon market is yet another major land mark where the citizens of Anandwan and sellers and buyers from Warora, Chimur, Bhadravati, Vani, Chandrapur, Hinghanghat, Jam, Khambada, Salori and Mazal come to trade. It is a fine weekly "Mela" and our friends from Sukh Sadan, Uttarayan, Krishi Niketan, Muktangan, Mukti Sadan, Sneh Savalli, Yuwagram, Sandhiniketan and from the rest of the Anandwan communes make it a very memorable Wednesday afternoon.
