Chandigarh, February 1 Haryana Sugarfed has terminated the services of corporation’s controversial Technical Adviser (Sugar) A.K. Nanda for acquiring several movable and immovable properties beyond his known sources of income. The officer, according to the corporation, had been involved in several acts of omission and commission and had been accepting gifts worth lakhs of rupees in violation of provisions of service rules. He had also been found guilty of acquiring immovable properties without the information of the office. The officer is also facing Vigilance inquiries for various allegations.

According to the corporation, the officer purchased a car for Rs 5.35 lakh, but fraudulently showed its value at Rs 2.90 lakh in his property returns. He allegedly also did not reveal the sources of purchase of the car. He also acquired a house in Sector 4 of Panchkula for Rs 11 lakh with alleged unaccounted and illicit resources, as per information released by the corporation. He also submitted false information that he purchased the house with a bank loan and later it was found that he took that loan for construction of the house.
