New Delhi The postmortem of a 39-year-old who died in a car accident in West Delhi on Thursday night has revealed that the businessman was in fact shot dead while driving.

Gajraj Singh’s Wagon-R had crashed into a tree near Nihal Vihar after he lost control of the vehicle while returning home to Kunwar Singh Nagar. “A Santro behind him crashed into the Wagon-R. The Santro driver informed the Police Control Room, which rushed the victim to hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The three passengers in the Santro also suffered minor injuries and were hospitalised. Initially, we registered a case of accidental death,” said a police officer.

Late on Friday, the case was converted to murder after the postmortem conducted at the Sanjay Gandhi Mortuary revealed two gunshot wounds in his neck. Police officials said so far no witnesses have come forward and further investigations were on.
