Kolkata/Ranchi The state government has assured to resolve all controversies pertaining to the Super Hospitality Box at the Eden Gardens before April 1 when the city hosts its next IPL match.

State chief secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborti has called a meeting of all departments concerned at the Writers’ Building on Thursday. Besides the CAB and IPL officials, the Kolkata police, PWD, fire services department and sports department have been asked to send their representations at the meeting.

“I hope all issues will be resolved in the meeting. While we want that all norms are maintained, we also do not want to stop the IPL matches,” Chakraborti said.

PWD minister Kshiti Goswami reiterated that his department had given consent for the game only after receiving an undertaking from the organisers.

The minister admitted that there were flaws with the structure. “The structure should maintain the norms,” said Goswami.

Fire services minister Pratim Chatterjee, meanwhile, met advocates today to discuss the actions the government could initiate against violation of safety norms.

The minister said that the advocates told him that no second FIR is needed if the accused commits the crime a second time after the complaint has been lodged.

“The department had lodged a complaint on March 15, but they organised a match on the following day,” said the minister.
