The media reports hinted that Sekhon was about to expose the senior officer’s deeds when former Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau, Saji Mohan, framed him in a false case.
IGP Jain clarified that reinstatement of any of the six officers, suspended on the basis of Saji Mohan’s report, was not under consideration in the wake of the ex-NCB zonal director’s arrest. “Both are separate issues. The action to be taken against the suspended cops depends on the outcome of the inquiry report,” he added.
A departmental inquiry is on to probe the cop-peddler nexus after a notorious drug peddler, Raju, had alleged that S-I Sekhon supported smooth operation of his narcotics business in exchange for cash.
