SUV crashes into house in Mohali

Mohali In a case of reckless driving, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), Chevrolet Tavera, crashed into a Phase II house in Mohali on Saturday morning. While the driver of the vehicle, identified as Mandeep Singh, sustained serious injuries, a woman call centre executive in the vehicle and a migrant sleeping inside the house sustained minor injuries.

The accident took place around 5.30 am when a speeding Tavera coming from the District Administrative Complex in Phase I failed to negotiate a right turn at Hotel Franco lightpoint and crashed into the house belonging to one Rajinder Singh.

The driver was taken to the PGIMER in Chandigarh, where he was admitted for treatment, while the other injured were discharged after first-aid at the Mohali Civil Hospital, Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Harbir Singh told Newsline.

While the local police reached the spot, the concerned parties entered into a mutual compromise refusing to have any police action initiated in the case, added the SHO.
