Kharar As many as 220 learners’ licences and 570 medical certificates were issued

The Suvidha camp — all official work under one roof — held under the supervision of Kharar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajeev Kumar Gupta saw a heavy rush on Saturday.

Punjab Cooperation Minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh inaugurated the camp while his son Punjab State Cooperative Bank Limited Chairman Jasjit Singh Bunny presided over the inaugural ceremony.

The SDM issued as many as 220 learners driving licences to the eligible applicants while a team of medical officers issued 570 medical certificates for various purposes. A total of 1,131 forms for below poverty line cards under the “Atta Dal” scheme were received and 252 persons filled forms related to various types of pensions.

The applicants for the issuance of new ration cards and those for changes in the old alleged that the staff of Food and Civil Supplies Department either refused to entertain the applications or rejected them on flimsy grounds. The department, however, claimed having received 12 applications for new ration cards and making changes in 7 others.
