The inauguration of ‘Study India programme’ for Nanyang Technology University, Singapore, which was organised by Symbiosis International University, was held at Vishvabhawan conference hall of Symbiosis International University on Monday.
“The programme has been developed on multiple tasks. It will cover academic sessions that include characteristics of Indian economy, banking and financial structure and banking sector reform and foreign trade. Other sessions that trace the journey of Indian business houses from traditional style in business administration to present style of functioning of multi-nationals,” said a press note.
“The sessions would also take care of the political and social environment in India, as students need to appreciate the environment in which the business houses work. They will also be encouraged to attend health and fitness session on a daily basis.”
Workshop will be organised to expose them to traditional art forms like pottery and warli painting. Sessions have been scheduled for appreciation of Indian dance forms and Indian music. The outbound programmes would include the visit to the factories, NGOs, fun-trips in and around Pune as well as an overnight trip to Pawankhind Resorts weekend trip at the Western Ghats.
The dignitaries present for the event included Dr S B Mujumdar, president and founder-director of Symbiosis, Dr Vidya Yeravdekar, joint director of Symbiosis, Reginald Wee, Regional Director (South Asia), Aremeene Modi, founder and director, Ashta no kai, Sanjeevani Mujumdar, hon director, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum and Memorial, Dr Prakash Deshpande, former Indian Ambassador, S K Jain, chairman and MD, Synergy Pvt Ltd and Aashima Agashe.
