Symbiosis management fest from February 18

Pune, February 13 The Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (Undergraduate) will host its first national-level management fest, Symulate from February 18-20. As part of Symulate, an academic summit will be held on Monday with "India Rising-The True Story" as the theme.

Manohar Parrikar, leader of the opposition, Goa Legislative Assembly, Municipal Comissioner Praveen Pardeshi, P J Lavakare, senior academician, Prof Pradeep Apte, former member, Planning Commission, Ranjit Gadgil, programme director, Janwani and Shishir Joshi, director-editorial, Mid Day. The discussion will be moderated by Prof Ujjwal Chowdhury, director, Symbiosis Institute of Mass Commuication (SIMC). The summit will be held at the Vimannagar campus.

Some of the questions to be discussed at the summit are: Are India's economic fundamentals strong enough to sustain its breakneck growth and allow for penetration at all levels? With rising brutalities in various social segments, is focus on economic growth as a primary objective justified? With the aim to become a economic superpower, are we forgetting that we have a country to look after?

The summit would be followed by three days of competitions in the fields of human resource, finance, marketing, leadership and quiz. Eight colleges from across India are participating. The three day management fest will also see Raghu Ram of MTV Roadies Fame make a special appearance at the fest on Wednesday to interact with the students, participants and audience, stated Dr Bhama Venkataramani, head, SCMS(UG).
