Symbiosis students robbed

Pune, January 2 Two Symbiosis students and their girl friends were robbed by a gang of four persons at a stone quarry near Kalawade vasti on Lohegaon Road around 9 pm of Wednesday. The Yerwada police claimed that they solved the case within two hours.

According to the police, a Symbiosis student Hitesh Leakhi Parwani (18) and his college-mate had taken their friends in a car to the waterpond in Agarwal quarry in Kalawade vasti. While they were chit chatting, three persons suddenly pointed sharp weapons on them and looted valuables worth Rs 56,000. The valuables included cash of Rs 3,000, three mobile phones, a metal chain and a camera.

The victims immediately contacted the police control room. Two teams of Yerwada police were dispatched to Lohegaon and Tigre Nagar in search of the robbers. One of the teams led by police inspector Popatrao Karape nabbed a suspect Anil alias Pappu More in Bermasel Wasti. More tried to attack the police with a sharp weapon, but was arrested. Further his accomplices Sachin Kanojiya, Pradeep Garud and Amor Tujare, all from Dhanori were arrested in the early morning.
