“I love Seema, my son, and my daughter. I miss them,” Chand Mohammed said. Asked about his second wife Fiza, Chand said, “I respect her.”
Chand, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, was also seen near Rajghat in the Capital on Wednesday evening with two friends. He was allegedly in an inebriated state at the time and was taken to the Daryaganj police station. He left the police station saying he would “go on his own”, officers said. He was untraceable thereafter, they said.
Chand, or Chander Mohan as he was known before his conversion to Islam to marry former Additional Advocate General Anuradha Bali (now Fiza), was at a friend’s house in Gurgaon’s Sector 14 this afternoon. This comes three days after he suddenly went “missing” from his house in Panchkula, near Chandigarh. Fiza had initially claimed he was abducted, and later allegedly tried to commit suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping pills.
She was arrested, and later released on bail, on Friday for attempting suicide.
Chand later left for an undisclosed location on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in Chandigarh, Fiza said, “No man should exploit a lady or a religion. My fears that Chand Mohammed is siding with his brother, Kuldeep Bishnoi (a Member of Parliament) are coming true. The way he was speaking on television (on Saturday) clearly showed that he was drunk.”
She also claimed that her repeated attempts to contact him in the past three days have proven futile.
Fiza’s confidante and close friend Neeru Bala, sitting next to her during the press conference, said, “Fiza is being unnecessarily harassed by the media. The fault lies with Chand.”
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Bhajan Lal would return to Panchkula soon. Chand’s spokesperson Deepak Walia said the former deputy CM is in Delhi with friends, and would return to Panchkula in a day or two.
Fiza’s lawyer Rohit Mahajan said she would decide her next course of action after speaking with Chand.
Chand, 43, married Anuradha Bali (Fiza) last November, drawing the wrath of his family who disowned him. Chand was then sacked as the deputy chief minister.
After he went missing three days ago, Fiza had alleged that Chand was not returning home as he was under pressure from his family, who, she claimed, were trying to lure him back. “We have a normal relationship,” she had told a TV news channel. “Though Chand talked to me once (in the last three days) and said he was okay, I feel he was speaking under some pressure.

Fiza says,” we have a normal relationship'. If this relationship was normal, in Indian context, I wonder what an abnormal relationship would look like. Moreover relationship between a hypocritical married fool and an ambitious lawyer is not normal, not even in the wild western cultures. I am not another moralistic Indian fool outraged by your marriage, but what is happening between you two now made me write this. Actually at first I had appreciation for two of you for standing up to 'Indian culture' which is overly conservative and stifling at times. Your only sin is that you acted on a very natural human feeling that we all feel at times. And this societal sin is not legally punishable. Nor should you punish yourself by committing suicide. Not even by feeling guilty, I would say. You are a beautiful person and many well meaning men will feel lucky to be with you. Just avoid those married-types and politician. They are not worth the hassle as you know it now. You trusted both in one.
First of all, the non-muslims shouldn't be allowed to use the religion of islam to get married second time. These jokers are misusing it. There should be a provision that those who want to convert to Islam to get married, should follow the religion vigirously for a year and after that alone should be allowed to get married. If such condition is put forward, then we won't see these so called 'converted muslims' making mockery of islam.
