A day after he requested Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to set up a judicial commission to inquire into the death of Maoist leader Azad, social activist Swami Agnivesh on Wednesday said he would be able to bring Maoists for talks within seven days provided the government accepted his request.

Talking with The Indian Express over telephone, Agnivesh said dialogue was possible if the government announced on the judicial inquiry into the killing of Azad. He also said the Central government should come out with a reply to counter a media report on killing of Azad allegedly by Andhra Pradesh police. After the Lalgarh rally, on August 12, Agnivesh had said that he would seek an appointment from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to convey him Maoists’ message on judicial inquiry.
