Talwinder, Shilla adjudged best athletes

Chandigarh Talwinder Kaur and Shilla were adjudged the best athletes in sports and non-sports category on the concluding day of the 24th Annual Athletic Meet held at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26 on Thursday.

Talwinder of BCom I claimed the long jump, high jump and 200 metre race to emerge as the best athlete in sports category while Shilla of BA-I won the 100 metre and 200 metre race in non-sports category. Meanwhile, in triple jump event in sports category, Anjala of BA-I cornered glory while Simple claimed the discus throw title. The javelin throw event was won by Jaswinder while Pooja Thapa won the shotput event. Veena and Mini won the 100 metre and 400 metre title, respectively while Varsha emerged champion in 800 metre race. In non-sports category, Neelam won the first spot in long jump event while Dinabati claimed the high-jump title. Lavneet emerged victorious in discus throw while Sharan shone in javelin throw. Renu, Neelam and Merina claimed the shotput, 400 metre and 800 metre race title, respectively.
