Tambe leads Shivaji Park into semis

Mumbai Shivaji Park Gymkhana advanced to the semifinals of the Padmakar Talim Shield Cricket Tournament (45-over) to set up a clash against National Cricket Club on Sunday. Cricket Club of India will meet Parkophene in the other semifinal in the competition conducted by MIG cricket Club.

An unbeaten match-winning innings of 89 by Praveen Tambe helped Shivaji Park Gymkhana to pip MIG by a solitary wicket, while Parkophene prevailed over Karnataka by 10 runs.

Meanwhile, Hitshu Bachani, with figures of 5-34, and Aniket Redkar, who chipped in with three scalps, enabled CCI to bowl out Dadar Union for a paltry 110. Vinayak Samant top-scored with 55 to lead CCI to a comfortable five-wicket victory. Amol Muzumdar led National’s chase of 214 with an unbeaten 63 against New Hind.
