The Panigate police are clueless if Chandrakant Thakor (24) went missing or has been abducted.
The case came to light on Wednesday after Thakor’s family received a mysterious call informing of his arrest in an accident case.
Thakor owns a taxi and operates from the Nyay Mandir area.
According to a case registered at the Panigate police station by his brother, Bharat, a passenger approached Chandrakant on Sunday and hired the taxi for a two-day tour to Mount Abu.
Thakor left the same day after informing his family about the tour. Nothing has been heard from him since then.
On Wednesday, Chandrakant's family received a call from an unknown number which informed them about his arrest in an accident case.
The call could not be traced back nor could anyone contact Chandrakant, which was when a case was registered later in the day.
“We have not been able to trace the unknown caller or gather information about the passenger. There is no confirmation if Chandrakant has been taken to MtAbu or elsewhere. We are yet to find out if he has been abducted. Nevertheless, the Mt Abu police have been alerted about the matter,” said Investigation Officer, Inspector RD Lashkari.
