Mumbai The love story of a 13-year-old school student and a 25-year-old man ended at the police station when they were picked up by the Kurla police on Tuesday evening. According to the police, they had eloped four days ago. While the girl was sent to a remand home, Nadim Khan and his friend Fayaz Khan were booked for abduction and gangrape, said the police.

Nadim, who works as spot boy on Bollywood film sets, had got acquainted with the girl as she stayed in a highrise near his house. Nadim’s friend Fayaz, a tailor, also knew about their relationship. “He impressed the girl with the experience he got from the film sets. Last December, he and Fayaz had even gone to the girl’s house to meet her parents. At that time only the mother was at home and she asked them to leave saying that the girl was too young to get married. But Nadim lured the girl with promises of marriage and eloped with her on February 13 with Fayaz’s help,” said B Jadhav, police inspector (Crime), Kurla police station.

While initially the girl’s father had filed a missing person’s complaint with the Kurla police, he eventually changed it to a case of abduction when his wife told him about the duo’s visit to their house in December.

“Based on a tip off, we nabbed Nadim who had come to his house in Kurla on Tuesday. The girl was also with him. In her statement, she said that initially Nadim and Fayaz took her to Wai. While Fayaz returned to Mumbai, Nadim took her to a lodge in Pune and raped her,” said Jadhav.

“The girl who is presently at a remand home had undergone a medical check-up which confirmed rape,” said the police.
