Ludhiana The Tehbazari Branch that deployed a big team to clear encroachments around the city faced stiff competition at all the spots it went to. The team first went to Scooter Market on Gill Road to pick up scooters parked on roadside for sale, where it had barely picked up 15 scooters when shopkeepers gheraoed the staff. The two sides had a heated exchange of words after which the team was forced to abandon their operations. From there, the team went to Samrala Chowk, where, once again, rehri owners opposed the members. Though, in Chaura Bazar, few temporary encroachments were cleared by the team and some were cleared from outside the Durga Mata Mandir, near Jagraon Bridge. Few wrongly-parked scooters were also picked up from the Feroze Gandhi Market.
