Thieves kill fellow over Rs 1,000

Vadodara An internecine scuffle over money among a gang of thieves resulted in one of them being stabbed to death for Rs 1,000. It is alleged that the accused persons hit the victim with pipes and swords and killed him near Hasti Talav in Vakrol village in Ankleshwar.

According to Inspector J M Patel, the incident occurred around 8.30 pm on Saturday when the victim, Sikander alias Kala Chor, had an argument with

one of the accused, Shambhu, whose details are yet to be ascertained by the police. “Shambhu accused Sikander of stashing silver worth Rs 1,000 with him, which was stolen from Hasod. Sikander slapped Shambhu; and the latter, along with other gang members Mahesh, Kalu, Aliyo and Hanif Abdul of Hansoth village, killed him,” said Patel.

He added that while Sikandar was a known thief, Shambhu and others are new.
