Chandigarh, February 24 The SAS Nagar Police have arrested three persons for their involvement in a multi-crore cyber racket. The accused were arrested from Chandigarh late on Saturday night.

The three arrested include Soman Sundaram, a Sector 21C resident and his two accomplices Sham Sundrin and Mohammad Naujeen, residents of Sector 48. The police have also recovered Rs 5.1 lakh in cash from their possession.

The accused were actively involved in online trading of gold, silver, oil products and various other articles illegally. According to the Punjab Police, they had received a complaint from one Nitin Sharma, who claimed that he was duped by the accused of Rs 27 lakh.

While the accused claimed to have the approval of the Reserve Bank of India for conducting the business, the police investigations revealed they were not authorised by any government agency to do so.
