Three city policemen bag awards for ‘best crime investigations’

Pune Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sangramsinh Nishandar, Police Inspector Sunil Pawar and Assistant Police Inspector Nandkumar Suryavanshi - all from the city- bagged awards for 'best crime investigations' in the state. A total of six policemen from all over the state received awards from Home Minister Jayant Patil at a function held in Mumbai on Monday.

They were felicitated with certificates and a cash prize of Rs 2,500. Nishandar was awarded for exposing a credit card scam while laurel came in Pawar's way for solving 65 cases of house break-ins. Suryavanshi was awarded for exposing criminals within the police force. He had booked four constables for allegedly kidnapping a courier agency employee and robbing him of Rs 15.5 lakh.
