Three die in road accident

Rajkot Three persons, including a child and an infant, died when their car was hit by a speeding truck on the Rajkot-Kalawad highway on Friday morning, the police said.

Other five passengers in the car were severely injured and rushed to the hospital, the police added.

The Jamnagar Rural police said the accident took place near Shisang Circle at Nikava on the Kalawad highway.

The three victims died on the spot. The dead have been identified as Subodh Patadia (50), a gold dealer from Rajkot, five-year-old Kevin and seven-month-old Jiya.

The police said the Patadias were on their way to Harshad in Jamnagar district for a vacation with their relatives.
