Three die in road mishap

Khanna, February 29 Three members of a family including a woman died and another woman was injured, when the car in which they travelling was hit by a truck on the GT Road near Khanna at Bahomajra village late on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as Bipin Kumar Jain (54), Sunny Jain (22) Neha Jain (24). Bipin's wife Aruna Jain (50) was seriously injured and rushed to the DMC Hospital in Ludhiana.

Two-year-old toddler Pranav Jain escaped unhurt.

The victims, residents of Jalandhar, were on their way back home from Ambala. Bipin Jain and Neha Jain died on the spot while Sunny Jain succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The unidentified driver of the truck fled from the spot after the incident.

Sadar Police Station SHO Dharam Pal told Newsline, "A case has been registered against the unidentified driver."
