Three killed in separate road accidents in 24 hours in city

Three people, including a senior citizen, were killed in four separate road accidents that took place in the past 24 hours in the Capital. In the first, a 75-year-old man was crushed to death by an unknown speeding vehicle in Prashant Vihar area of Outer Delhi on Thursday night. Police said the incident was reported around 6.30 pm near the dividing road between Rohini Sectors 15 and 16. The deceased, Dev Anand, was a resident of Rohini Sector 25 area.

In the second incident, a speeding dumper mowed down a scooter driver in IGI area of South Delhi on Friday. Police said that the deceased, Balwant (48) was the riding pillion while his friend, Shamsher (47) was riding the scooter when the incident took place in front of Hotel Santoor in IGI area. Balwant died on the spot while Shamsher sustained critical injuries in the accident.

In the third accident, a speeding Tavera car hit two labourers, killing one on the spot in RK Puram area of south district on Friday. Police said that Rohan (18) and Nanku (18) had alighted from a bus near the Moti Bagh flyover when the speeding car hit the duo. Rohan died on the spot while Nanku suffered injuries and has been hospitalised.
