Dharamshala Some pro-democracy Chinese living outside China are likely to join the function of the Tibetan government-in-exile, being organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan uprising against troops of the People’s Republic of China in Lhasa, on March 10 at Dharamshala.

However, the exact number of Chinese who will attend the function is not known, but sources in the Tibetan government-in-exile said the number could touch 50.

“A group of Chinese people living outside China, who favour the pro-democracy movement, have expressed their desire to come here on March 10, on Tibetan uprising day,’’ said Secretary of International Relations,

Tibetan government-in-exile, Sonam Dagpo.

“The purpose of their visit is to express solidarity with the Tibetan people. We have not invited them, but they themselves wanted to attend the function,” he added.

Sources said the pro-democracy supporters are likely to meet the Dalai Lama and other officials of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
