According to complainant Mayank Bhatnagar, who works with Tech Mahindra in Noida, he had to be admitted in Noida district hospital following the fight on Monday night. The row took place at their house in upscale Akanksha Apartments in Noida’s Sector 62, the complaint says.
The couple, Bhatnagar’s complaint says, is undergoing marital discord for the past few months, and violent rows erupt quite often. “We moved into a new apartment to ease the tension between her and my family. But even that did not work,” the complaint, registered in Sector-58 police station, says.
Bhatnagar complains that during a fight last night his wife Neha punched his nose so hard that it broke. “I had to be admitted in the district hospital after the X-ray confirmed that my nose was fractured,” the complainant says.
According to police sources, Mayank Bhatnagar’s father, a senior doctor at Ghaziabad district hospital, accompanied him to the police station last night. Bhatnagar senior admitted that there were regular fights between the couple which was one of the reasons they moved to a new apartment, a police source said.
The police have registered a case under the section dealing with ‘voluntarily causing grievous hurt’. But following reports of rising crime against women in the city, it seems the Noida police are moving ahead in the case with precaution. Senior Sub-Inspector J K Gangwar of Sector-58 police station said, “This is a sensitive matter. We are keeping the matter on hold for now since the Station House Officer is not in town.”
