Ludhiana To increase the strength of students in government primary schools, a school in the district has started distributing pamphlets to woo parents. The Primary Education Officer of Ludhiana-1 Educational Block has got the brochure made on the behalf of Government Primary School, Jandiyali. The pamphlets are widely being circulated in the nearby areas.

Block Primary Education Officer (Ludhiana-1) Baldev Singh Mangat, “We have highlighted the achievements of the Government Primary School. This will give publicity to the school and help in increasing its strength.”

Mangat said, “The strength of the school is 228. Thanks to good infrastructure and hard working staff. The school has also won accolades in sports. The pamphlet boasts of good infrastructure, sports facilities, provision for the physically challenged students, free books for all till Class V and scholarship for girl students belonging to the Scheduled Caste.”

Published in black and white, the brochure carries the pictorial representation of the school campus. A teacher from another government school said, “We too are planning to advertise our school and hope to get a good response.”

There are 230 schools in Ludhiana-1 educational block. The BPEO said, “If private schools can get good response from advertisement, why should government schools lag behind?”
