Mumbai Four unidentified armed men robbed a trader on Monday morning. The victim, Suraj Dhingreja (28), was outside his house along with his employees Raju Kukreja (38) and Kishore Sharma (33), when he was looted. According to him, the men were armed with choppers and country-made revolver. They pointed the revolver at the trio and asked them to hand over the cash. They also threatened to attack him, if he didn’t obey them. Dhingreja’s employees were roughed up and injured when they tried to protest. Kukreja was shot at and Sharma was hurt with the chopper. The robbers made away with cash worth Rs 1.75 lakh. Kukreja is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Bhabha Hospital while Sharma is in a stable condition in the same hospital. However, Khar police have registered a case of robbery.

“Dhingreja was leaving for his home from his office in Opera House with cash. When he got out of his car after reaching home, the armed men came out of hiding,” said Police Inspector B Mukhedkar of Khar police station. “A frightened Dhingreja handed over Rs 1.75 lakh to the men. But when they tried to flee the place, Kukreja and Sharma tried to stop them. Enraged by this, these men shot at Kukreja in his collarbone, while the latter sustained injuries by chopper. Following this, the accused managed to flee the spot,” said Mukhedkar. The police believe that the men must have noticed that Dhingreja would return home with money.
