Surat The office bearers of 44 different business organisations and members of the South Gujarat Commercial Tax Bar Association will take out a rally on Wednesday morning to bring to the authorities’ attention the difficulties faced in e-filing of the returns.

The rally will begin from the Sales Tax Bhavan at Nanpura and will culminate at the district collectorate office where the representatives will hand over a memorandum to the district collector.

The president of the group, Jay Lal said the online filing of their Commercial Tax Return is causing problems to the traders because of the frequent error in the server service. They have to wait for days before they can complete the process. This, he said, causes delay and for no fault of theirs they have to pay interest and face prosecution.

"There are around 60 lakh registered traders who regularly file tax through Internet across the state," said Jay Lal.

He said they will hold meetings with representatives of different business organistaions at Hotel Embassy on Sunday and will discuss the problems faced by the community.
