Training courses on medicinal plants, bee keeping held

Ludhiana The Directorate of Extension Education, PAU, is organising a two-day training course on “Scope of aromatic and medicinal plants for farmers and farm women” from January 27 to 28, in which 25 farmers/farm women will take part.

Giving details of the course, Dr NS Malhi, Director of Extension Education, said that interested participants can register themselves on January 27 at Kairon Kisan Ghar at 9 a.m.

The course will have expert talks on importance of medicinal, aromatic and spice crops along with tips for their successful cultivation and protection. In addition, the participants will be provided information on processing of these crops alongwith their agri-business models for marketing. The technical coordinator of the course is Dr GS Cheema.

Another course entitled, “Basic bee-keeping for farmers and farm women’ will be held from January 27 to February 6 in collaboration with Department of Entomology under an ICAR Scheme “All Coordinated Project on Honey-bee Research and Training” wherein 60 farmers/farm women will take part, said Dr Malhi.
