Hisar Transparency in work, upgrading infrastructure and improving transportation are the top priorities of the Gurgaon district administration, said Deputy Commissioner Deepti Umashankar, while talking to The Indian Express.

We would strive to bring more transparency in day-to-day working and try to meet the expectations of the people, she added. Thrust areas include improving the health of women and children, education of the girl child and women empowerment.

Efforts would be made to provide adequate facilities of drinking water and sewerage, she said. The repair work on all the major roads of Gurgaon, which were damaged due to heavy rains, is in progress, she added.

Gurgaon will get an ultramodern solid waste management plant, to be set up near Bandhwari village. “This plant is expected to start functioning this year and the technology in this plant would be so advanced that the inert material left for dumping will be merely 15 per cent of the total garbage treated in it,” said Umashankar. The city will also get its third water treatment plant at Basai this year. The plant, to come up at a cost of Rs 13.84 crore, is expected to be completed by March 2009.
