Chandigarh, February 4 The Chandigarh Police have yet to register an FIR against the four accused in the multi-crore travel fraud case almost a fortnight after the swindle came to light.

The four board directors of Yum Travels Service Private Limited— Satish Bhardwaj, his son Tapasvi Bhardwaj, daughter in law Pooja and son Kuru— are missing since January 16 when they went under ground after cheating people.

In a recent revelation, the Director of the Haryana Kala Parishad, Usha Sharma, who had earlier accused his brother Satish Bhardwaj of cheating her, had also mortgaged her Panchkula house for the travel service.

All the four absconders are also involved in a human trafficking case that was registered against them by the Phagwara police recently.

“Despite the fact that it is being claimed by Pooja’s father and Usha Sharma that the four of them have gone underground, the police is shying even to register a case against them for reasons best known to them”, said Vikram Kaushal, the owner of Blue Sky World Wide Travels of sector 34.

Kaushal said in spite recording a statement at the police station against the accused, the police have not registered a cheating case against all those involved in the travel service.

“Neither they (absconding board directors) are available at their house, nor their office has been opened. Their mobile phones are switched off. The police have failed to act despite several reminders. I met the SSP and also the DIG, but every time they say that the investigations are going on,” added Kaushal.
