Tribal girl ‘raped’ by six in Jam-Kandorana

Junagadh A 16-Year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by a group of six people in the outskirts of Sajadiyali village in Jam-Kandorana taluka on Saturday.

The police have lodged a case of abduction and rape against the six, who are at large. The girl has been sent to Rajkot for medical examination.

According to the complaint lodged with the Jam-Kandorana police station, the incident occurred around 2 am on Saturday when the girl was resting with her labourer parents in an agricultural field located in the village outskirts.

Mukesh Jinthara, the prime accused, came with five accomplices and abducted the girl. They took her to a nearby field, raped her and fled the scene, the police said.

The girl, along with her parents, then approached the police in the morning and lodged a complaint against them. A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. “Efforts are on to nab the accused,” said a policeman.

The victim’s father is a native of Madhya Pradesh and has been living at Gamsher in Ranapur taluka of Jambua.
