Paying tributes to Ranbir Singh and others after the obituary resolution was moved by Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala on the first day of the Vidhan Sabha session, Birender Singh said the institute should be set up on the pattern of a similar institute established by Prof Ranga of Andhra Pradesh.

He pointed out that Arya Samaj Movement had played a vital role in not only making the country independent, but also enabled Ranbir Singh and his colleagues in making significant contribution in politics. He said that Arya Samaj Movement had also made an impact on the life of father of Ranbir Singh, Matu Ram, and it was because of Arya Samaj that he could politically awaken the people.

Birender Singh also paid tributes to late president Dr R. Venkataraman, late prime minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Tayyab Hussain, former minister of Haryana, Kapoor Chand Sharma, former MLA, Manphool Singh, freedom fighters of Haryana, martyrs of Haryana, victims of bomb blasts at Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, Tripura and Manipur, victims of Chamunda Devi temple tragedy and those of attack in Mumbai and several freedom fighters and martyrs.

Others who paid tributes included President HPCC Mr Phool Chand Mullana. Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala also paid rich tributes to Ranbir Singh.

Surjewala said that in his death, the country has suffered a great loss and a link with the Gandhian age of idealism, selfless service, struggle and sacrifice has been snapped. The Nation was poorer without him.
