Kolkata Despite a formal announcement of the much-hyped alliance between the Trinamool and the Congress, the seat adjustments are expected to take more time. Leaders of both parties working on seat-sharing are yet to reach a common ground.

However, both parties are in constant pressure to publish their candidates’ list since the ruling CPM has already announced its candidates.

Even as the CPM has begun its Lok Sabha campaign, the Congress and the Trinamool are yet to match up. “It will take some more time before a consensus is arrived at. There are various issues to be tackled,” said Leader of the Opposition Partho Chatterjee.

Till date Banerjee has officially announced the name of only one candidate, actor Shatabdi Roy.

Senior Congress leaders in Delhi said though they are in touch with the Trinamool leaders in Bengal, the party president Sonia Gandhi is likely to have the final say over the seat-sharing.

The leaders also held a meeting with AICC member in-charge of Bengal K Keshab Rao over the issue.

According to party sources, Trinamool leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, are in touch with the Congress leaders.

Trinamool leaders held a meeting at Banerjee’s residence till late this evening. However, no announcement was made thereafter.
