Kolkata One Trinamool worker was killed and one CPM supporter injured in a clash between the two parties at Fakirdanga village in Bankura district early on Wednesday. Superintendent of Police, Bankura, Pranab Kumar said that Trinamool supporter Badre Alam suffered bullet injuries in the chest and later succumbed in the hospital.

Kumar said that the police conducted search operations in the village and set up police pickets. He also said that the officer-in-charge of Patrashayar police station has been removed from his duty. The villages of Partrashayar have become the hot-bed of political rivalry between the CPM and Trinamool in the last few months. Amiya Patra, CPM district secretary of Bankura, alleged that the Trinamool had forcibly closed down the party office in various places a few month ago.

District Trinamool president Shayam Mukherjee, however, alleged that about 60-70 hired goons of the CPM attacked Fakirdanga village early in the morning. They ransacked the houses of Trinamool supporters and shot at Alam. He died on the spot, Mukherjee said.
