Triveni Mathotsav set to begin

Allahabad The Allahabad district administration, in association with the Allahabad Development Authority, is set to organise Triveni Mahotsav, a week-long cultural extravaganza between February 15 and 21.

The Mahotsav is an annual affair. This year, singer Jasbir, Odessi dancer Dona Ganguli — wife of cricketer Saurav Ganguli, Raja Hassan — runner-up of Sa Re Ga Ma, musician duo Vishal-Shekhar and others will participate in the Mahotsav, which is an annual affair. The festival, held on the bank of Yamuna, has been named Triveni because of the confluence of three rivers — Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. “Event like swimming, boat race, kavi sammelan and competitions for local children will also be held,” said District Magistrate Rajiv Agrawal.
