Two die in 2-wheeler accidents

Two persons were injured and as many injured in separate road accidents in the city in the past two days. Surjeet Singh (40) was killed when his scooter collided with a motorcycle at Railway Light Point on Thursday. He was a resident of Baltana and worked at a furniture shop in Sector 7. Kamal Singh (19) of Bapu Dham Colony was killed when his motorcycle rammed into a car coming from the railway station side at midnight on Wednesday.

Surjeet Singh was returning home when Gagandeep Singh of Phase 9, Mohali,who was going home from Manimajra on his motorcycle, hit his scooter. Both were rushed to GMSH-16, where Surjeet succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case of rash driving and negligence against Gagandeep at Manimajra police station.

The other accident took place when Kamal Singh was returning from a Panchkula vegetable mandi. He was taken to PGI and succumbed on Thursday morning. The car driver was arrested and a case registered at the Manimajra police station.

A pedestrian, Urmila Devi of Nayagaon, was admitted to GMSH-16 after one Rajinder Singh’s motorcycle hit her near the Sector 2/11 dividing road. A case of rash driving and causing injuries was registered at the Sector 3 police station.
